AION 2 DLSS 4.5 Confirmed for the Global Launch Build
NVIDIA's official gamescom 2026 GeForce article states that AION 2's Western version will include support for DLSS 4.5 from its September 30, 2026 release, and NC published a dedicated DLSS 4.5 trailer to the AION 2 Official YouTube channel on September 2. DLSS 4.5 already runs on the live Korean service, added in the July 15, 2026 update alongside AMD FSR 4. What neither company has published is the global build's graphics-settings menu, a per-feature breakdown, or any performance figure — so the confirmed fact is narrow: DLSS 4.5 is in, the specifics are not yet listed.

NC publishes a DLSS 4.5 trailer for the global build
On September 2, 2026, the AION 2 Official YouTube channel published a 1:05 clip titled "[AION 2] | NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 In AION 2." NC's description is short and makes one claim: the technology "brings razor-sharp clarity and improved stability to every frame and multiplies performance." It is the first time NC has promoted DLSS to the Western audience directly, four weeks out from the September 30 Founder's Pack head start.
The harder confirmation is NVIDIA's, and it predates the trailer. In the GeForce newsroom article NVIDIA published around gamescom 2026 (created August 25 and updated August 28), a dedicated AION 2 section states plainly that when the Western version is released on September 30, AION 2 will include support for DLSS 4.5 on GeForce RTX GPUs. NVIDIA also restates the schedule as we have it: September 30 for Founder's Pack buyers, then the full free-to-play release.
As of September 3, 2026, that is the whole of the official record. Neither company has published AION 2's global graphics-settings menu, a per-GPU-tier performance table, or an FPS target at any resolution — so treat the "multiplies performance" line as marketing copy, not a measured figure.
This is not new to the game — only to the Western release
AION 2 has shipped DLSS on the live Korean and Taiwanese service for months. The July 15, 2026 Korean update is the one that moved that service to DLSS 4.5 alongside AMD FSR 4, and its note describes improved AI upscaling, more stable Frame Generation with less ghosting, and up to ×6 Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 50-series cards, with FSR 4 limited to Radeon RX 9000-series GPUs. Before that, DLSS Multi Frame Generation had already arrived in the December 24, 2025 update.
That history is useful context but not a promise about the global client. The Korean and global builds are on separate patch schedules, and NVIDIA's wording covers the DLSS 4.5 umbrella without enumerating which components — Super Resolution, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction — are exposed in the Western settings menu. Notably, NVIDIA's same article calls out ray tracing or Ray Reconstruction explicitly for several other titles in the round-up and does not do so for AION 2, so we are not claiming either for AION 2 until a source says so.
One live caveat also comes from the Korean notes rather than NVIDIA: the August 19, 2026 Korean update re-enabled DLSS Frame Generation on RTX 50-series laptop GPUs after it had been temporarily disabled, and warns that using Frame Generation with G-SYNC enabled causes an abnormal shutdown on some laptops. If you play on an RTX 50-series laptop, that is worth remembering when the global client goes live.
What it means for the specs you need
DLSS support does not change AION 2's published requirements, and the numbers on our system requirements page still stand: an RTX 2070-class GPU at the recommended tier, 16 GB of RAM, 100 GB of storage. What it does change is the headroom above that baseline. DLSS Super Resolution runs on every GeForce RTX card from the 20-series up, so the recommended-tier RTX 2070 is already inside the supported range; Frame Generation is RTX 40-series and newer, and the multi-frame modes NC documented on the Korean service are RTX 50-series features.
AMD and Intel owners are not covered by any of this. The Korean service runs FSR 4 on Radeon RX 9000-series cards and keeps older Radeons on FSR 3, but no official statement covers FSR or XeSS in the Western build, and the Steam spec tables list neither. Treat non-NVIDIA upscaling as unlisted for the global launch.
The most direct way to find out what your own machine does with it is the free Launch Scale Test on September 17-18 — no Founder's Pack, no key, no invite. It is the only official opportunity to see the global client's graphics menu before Early Access begins, and if the DLSS toggles are there, that is where the community will confirm the exact feature list.
We will update this post when NC publishes the global settings menu or a per-feature breakdown. Until then the confirmed fact is narrow and worth stating exactly: DLSS 4.5 is in the Western build from September 30, per NVIDIA, with the free-to-play launch following on October 5.

Frequently asked questions
Does AION 2 support NVIDIA DLSS at global launch?
Yes. NVIDIA's official GeForce newsroom article, published around gamescom 2026 (August 25, updated August 28), states that when the Western version is released on September 30, 2026, AION 2 will include support for DLSS 4.5 on GeForce RTX GPUs. NC published a matching trailer, "[AION 2] | NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 In AION 2," on its official YouTube channel on September 2, 2026.
Which DLSS 4.5 features does AION 2 include?
NVIDIA's statement covers DLSS 4.5 as a whole and does not enumerate the individual components for AION 2, and NC has not published the global build's graphics-settings menu. On the live Korean service, the July 15, 2026 update brought DLSS 4.5 with improved upscaling and Frame Generation, including up to x6 Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 50-series cards. Ray Reconstruction and ray tracing have not been announced for AION 2 by either company, so treat those as unconfirmed.
Do I need an RTX card to play AION 2?
No. DLSS is optional. AION 2's official minimum spec is a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB) or Radeon RX 470 (4GB), and the recommended spec is an RTX 2070 (8GB) or Radeon RX 5700 XT (8GB). DLSS Super Resolution requires a GeForce RTX 20-series card or newer, Frame Generation requires RTX 40-series or newer, and the multi-frame modes documented on the Korean service require RTX 50-series.
Does AION 2 support AMD FSR or Intel XeSS on the global build?
Not confirmed. The live Korean service added AMD FSR 4 for Radeon RX 9000-series cards in the July 15, 2026 update, keeping older Radeons on FSR 3, but no official statement covers FSR or XeSS in the Western client and the Steam requirement tables do not mention either. As of September 3, 2026 this remains unlisted.
