AION 2 Patch Notes — July 15, 2026
The July 15, 2026 update opens the new Trial 'Vakron Sky Island' (level 50, item level 4,800, difficulty 4–16 with a weekly Proof-of-Overcoming shop), resets the Abyss with a server rematch, reworks the Abyss Rift Zone into faction-integrated 300v300 matching, and adds tattoos to customizing. All eight classes get a balance pass, AMD FSR 4 and NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 arrive, and the Atreia Summer Festival begins. Translated from the official Korean update note.

Content & Systems
The July 15 update introduces the new Trial content on Vakron Sky Island, resets the Abyss with a server rematch, reworks the Abyss Rift Zone into faction-integrated matching, and adds tattoos to character customizing.
Trial
- The Trial 'Vakron Sky Island' opens. Entry level: 50; entry item level: 4,800. Trials are entered through the Expedition UI.
- A Trial has four attributes, each settable from stage 1 to 4. The final difficulty is the sum of the set stages — from a minimum of 4 up to a maximum of 16.
- Clearing a difficulty grants the Trial-exclusive coin 'Proof of Overcoming'. Each difficulty's reward can be earned once per week, resetting every Wednesday.
- 'Proof of Overcoming' can be spent at the Trial shop in the Expedition menu on a variety of items.
Transcendence
- [Transcendence — Abyssal Horn Den]: the Odyle Energy Cube rewards now include 'Attunement Stone Fragment (Heroic) (Soul-bound)' and 'Attunement Stone Fragment (Unique) (Soul-bound)'.
- [Transcendence — Abyssal Horn Den]: the amount of 'Enhancement Stones' obtainable from the Odyle Energy Cube is increased.
Shugo Festa
- 'Shugo's Dilemma': double-score plates are added to rounds 5 and 6.
- The Shugo Festa menu now sorts the newest events to the front.
Abyss
- With the server rematch, artifact captures and Abyss corridors are reset. See the official CM Azit post for the server-matching table.
Abyss Rift Zone
- Matching changes from matched-server-vs-server to faction-integrated matching.
- If a channel is full, a new channel is now created instead of blocking entry.
- Maximum participants per faction becomes 300 (was 400 vs 400), and boss monster HP is lowered to match.
- Entry is only possible during the event preparation period; once preparation ends, entry closes.
- After the preparation stage, players may be redistributed across channels to fill them. Channels that still total under 200 players across both factions — or are heavily lopsided — have their event cancelled.
- Inside the Abyss Rift Zone you can talk to same-faction allies via the 'Event' chat filter.
- Entering the Abyss Rift Zone while in a party/force now automatically removes you from it.
Customizing
- Tattoos are added to customizing, under [Customizing] → [Style] → [Tattoo / Warpaint / Scars].
Class Changes
A balance and polish pass across all eight classes — mostly motion-speed improvements, specialization tuning, and PvE damage adjustments. Skill names are mapped through the game data; Brawler skills not yet in the datamined data are marked provisionally with the Korean name.

Events & Promotions
Atreia Summer Festival
Runs July 15 (after maintenance) → August 5 (before maintenance). Event missions in the Season Mission (Event) tab award two event currencies — 'Rainbow Conch Shell (Event)' and 'Rainbow Pearl (Event)' — for weekly per-character missions across the Abyss, Transcendence, Expedition, Awakening Battle, Nightmare, Dimensional Invasion, Shugo Festa, supply requests, mission quests, and login time (15 shells + 3 pearls each). Leftover event currency is deleted when the event ends.
- Coin merchants: NPC merchants appear in the towns of Verteron and Eltnen (Elyos) and Altgard and Morheim (Asmodians). They sell appearance helmets (Deep-sea Fish Mask, Cutie Crab), an Appearance Change Ticket, content charge tickets, Odyle Energy, Clash Rune Boxes, Soul Crystals, pet boxes, Hidden Cube keys, Spirit Stones of Resurrection, daily-dungeon/Nightmare instant-complete tickets, high-grade soul-binding stones, combat scrolls and master's food — priced in Rainbow Conch Shells with per-server purchase limits. - Pearl keys: 10 Rainbow Pearls material-convert into one of three pearl keys (Sunset Red / Golden Sand / Blue Wave; 3 per server each); 1 pearl also converts into 15 Soul-binding Stones (Soul-bound).
- Balloon boxes: each town hosts three balloon boxes opened by the matching pearl key, granting bundles of high-grade soul-binding stones, Enhancement Stones, Attunement Stone Fragments (Unique), instant-complete and challenge tickets, Soul Crystals, pet boxes or appearance boxes. Attendance events
- 'Dazzling Summer Vacation' (14-day check-in, July 15 → August 5): daily rewards including Spirit Stones of Resurrection, Odyle Energy, Life Crystals, Unknown Rift challenge tickets, Awakening soul-binding boxes, instant-complete tickets and pet boxes, capped by the 'Flower Swim Cap (Appearance: Helmet) (Soul-bound)' on day 14.
- 'Summer of Atreia' (28-day check-in, July 15 → August 19): a longer reward track of Soul Crystals, Clash Rune Boxes, combat scrolls, Hidden Cube keys, content charge tickets, Soul Books and Odyle Energy.
- 'Daeva Look Change Week' is extended by 7 days (now July 1 → July 22): dye/customizing cost per part stays discounted 50%, 200 Quna ▶ 100 Quna, with no usage limit.
Promotions (July 15 → August 26)
- Four new armor appearance sets — Sporty Rashguard, Romantic Summer, Flamingo Swim and Midnight Muse (₩49,000 each, or a Set Appearance Exchange Ticket).
- New weapon appearance line 'Summer Vacation of the Blue Sea' for all nine class weapons (₩19,000 each, class-restricted, or a Weapon Appearance Exchange Ticket).
- New wardrobe singles (300 Quna each): Beach Sunfish Mask and Swim Cap helmets, plus summer earrings/necklaces and snorkeling/goggle eye accessories.
- New pets 'Squishy Octopus' and 'Teddy-Bear Tube' (₩29,000 each) and the new 'Bubbly Crab Wings' (₩29,000).
Other improvements & fixes
Graphics — AMD FSR 4 & NVIDIA DLSS 4.5
- AMD FSR 4 is added (Radeon RX 9000 series only; older Radeons keep FSR 3): AI-based upscaling quality, reduced ghosting/flickering in motion, better texture and distant detail, and more stable Frame Generation.
- NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 is applied: improved AI upscaling, more stable Frame Generation with less ghosting, and better overall image quality and temporal stability. GeForce RTX 50-series cards can use up to ×6 Frame Generation.
- Common: the Frame Generation feature re-initializes per upscaler — after switching between DLSS and FSR it takes effect on the next game launch.
Improvements
- Skill presets: skill macros can now be saved per preset number (existing macros are copied to presets 1–3). Rarely, macros may reset during the update and need re-setting.
- UI: the Daeva Pass reward-unlock animation plays faster; item-info, map-pin and party-invite links shared by the other race are now usable in Expedition, Transcendence and Sanctuary; Pantheon decorations with no equip effect are now labeled as such.
- Item sources: 'Membership Pass' is added to acquisition info for its items, Arcana extraction is added as a source, Morheim garrison items now show acquisition info, some Asmodian crafted gear missing from appearance-extraction sources is fixed, and expired Daeva Passes no longer show as sources.
- NPC shops: items can now be sold even with a full cube — anything received during the sale that doesn't fit goes to the temporary cube.
- Material conversion: equipment materials support multi-select with a [×quantity] result display, scaling extra-material costs, and recipes now show their craft probability.
- Search: consecutive Korean consonant input now matches initial-consonant results only.
- Legion: member-login notifications now only fire when a member actually logs in. Gathering: repeatedly cancelling gathering now blocks gathering for a short period.
- Kwairing Premium membership claimed from storage now grants the membership event pass; claiming an already-owned special-race pet from storage now grants an exchange ticket.
Fixes
- Fixed skill ranges applying wider than intended when an extending weapon is equipped.
- Inheritance craft: fixed some 'Radiant' Dragon-King Gauntlets (빛나는 천룡왕/마룡왕의 권갑, 현룡왕/적룡왕의 권갑) not being registered as materials when crafting the '현룡왕/적룡왕' Gauntlet lines (names provisional pending the in-game English).
- Accessibility: the 'red-green colorblind' correction option is removed — users who had it on are reset to OFF and should pick the separate 'red-weak' or 'green-weak' option instead.
- Daevanion: fixed strings that mislabeled some Daevanion 'Points' as 'Crystals'; the 'Daeva Pass Shop Coin: Encore' can now be stored in the server warehouse.
- Fixed some title-granting items showing a grade that didn't match the actual title. [Season Mission – Challenge – Season]: the 'Aulisa's Trial' and 'Nua's Trial' mission names are corrected to 'Eloen's Trial' and 'Kalix's Trial'.
- Fixed Gauntlet items not appearing in the cube's per-category sort, and some Gauntlet gear missing from Verteron/Altgard heroic-quest rewards.
- [Achievement – Resources – Collection] 'Conqueror's Wings': wings granted by Growth Support now count. Fixed an awkward death motion on certain monsters.
- Awakening Battle: fixed the 'skill cooldown reduction' effect being able to exceed its 60% cap.
- Sanctuary 'Muspel's Chalice' boss Iskariel: fixed the portals summoned during 'Resolute Guard' intermittently failing to target players, and fixed 'Resolute Guard' firing before 'Discordant Judgment' when the boss's HP drops sharply.
- Expedition 'Citadel of the Fallen Daeva': fixed Basilus's 'Judgment Explosion' repeating abnormally when its focus target moves very far away, fixed Griossa's 'Lightning Roar' ground-damage zones being blockable/evadable, and fixed Basilus's front/back markers intermittently pointing the wrong way.
- Transcendence 'Abyssal Horn Den' boss Gargaum: fixed the projectiles thrown during 'Blue Light of Destruction' hitting the Spiritmaster's spirits.
- Fixed party members without mark permissions getting no feedback — a system message now explains the missing permission. Fixed equipping a 'Rune' switching the list-type equip slot to the accessory tab. Fixed the repeated skill-level message on resurrection in Battlegrounds.
Recovery & restoration
- Users who claimed the Kwairing Premium membership from storage after the June 17 product migration are granted the Membership Pass.
- The 'Cozy Rabbit' appearance exchange tickets planned for July 15 are postponed — the new schedule will be announced later.
