Rift timer FAQ
When does the next Spacetime Rift open in AION 2?
Spacetime Rifts open 8 times every day, every 3 hours, at 02:00, 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 14:00, 17:00, 20:00 and 23:00 server time. Both live services use the same clock times but on their own timezone — the Taiwan server on GMT+8 and the Korea server on GMT+9 — so the same rift happens 1 hour apart between them. Pick your server with the Taiwan/Korea toggle and the timer counts down to the next opening in your own local timezone.
Do the Korea and Taiwan servers have different rift times?
The schedule itself is identical — we verified this by extracting both game clients, and the rift and event data are byte-for-byte the same. The only difference is the server timezone: Korea runs on KST (GMT+9) and Taiwan on GMT+8, so every rift and event happens exactly 1 hour apart between the two. Use the Taiwan/Korea toggle at the top of the page to match your server; if your countdown looks about an hour off, you probably have the wrong server selected.
What timezone is the AION 2 rift timer using?
Two timezones are involved. The schedule is anchored to your chosen server's timezone (Taiwan GMT+8 or Korea GMT+9), and the result is then automatically converted to your device's own local timezone, detected from your browser — so you see the real opening time wherever you are.
How often do rifts open in AION 2?
Rifts open every 3 hours, for a total of 8 openings per day. Once one rift closes, the next is always three hours away.
Do I need an account to use the rift timer?
No. The AION 2 Hub rift timer runs entirely in your browser, requires no login, and is completely free to use.
What in-game events does AION 2 run, and when?
Recurring field events run every hour on server time — minigames like Mysterious Track (racing), Nyerk Shooter, Hidden Lugi and Up! Up! Up!, plus Defend Shugo Merchants, Goldrin's Treasure, and the Beritra Air Raid boss event (on the half hour). The In-game events section above shows a live countdown to the next of each for your selected server (Taiwan or Korea), converted to your local timezone.
What is the Abyss Rift Zone in AION 2, and when does it run?
The Abyss Rift Zone is a Chapter-1 instanced PvP battlefield: Elyos (Western Camp) vs. Asmodian (Eastern Camp), levels 45+, queued every Tuesday and Thursday at 22:00 (10 PM) server time — that's 22:00 GMT+9 on Korea and 22:00 GMT+8 on Taiwan, an hour apart. Both camps race through escalating waves of corrupted Balaur, then a shared finale against four named "Conqueror of the Rift" bosses, with contribution-gated Win/Draw/Lose reward chests. It runs for up to 35 minutes (a 5-minute prep window, then a 30-minute match). The countdown above shows exactly when the next one opens for your selected server, in your local timezone.
