Aion 2 Pre-Registration & Beta

As of August 31, 2026, Aion 2 does not have a formal global pre-registration portal, but the newsletter carries confirmed rewards — and Founder's Pack pre-purchase is live on Steam and PURPLE ahead of the October 5, 2026 launch. The two free official pre-launch actions for Western players are: (1) wishlist Aion 2 on Steam, and (2) sign up for the newsletter on the official global site, aion2.plaync.com. Per NCSOFT's June 5, 2026 launch press release, newsletter subscribers will receive in-game gifts redeemable at launch: Pagati, a guaranteed companion pet, plus their choice of one additional pet from four options — Konutin Worker, Papis, Black Smoke Murute, or Silver Blade Rotan. Wishlisting itself carries no reward, but it notifies you the moment the game becomes available.

The global launch itself is official. On April 21–22, 2026, NCSOFT (via NC America and its Korean newsroom) announced that the global version of Aion 2 will release in the second half of 2026 on PC only, distributed through Steam and NCSOFT’s PURPLE launcher. That window has since been narrowed: the official Launch Reveal Trailer premiered at Summer Game Fest on June 5, 2026 confirmed a September 2026 launch, and NC then named the day at gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026: October 5, 2026. The global build is PC-native (no Western mobile client was announced), will run dedicated servers for North America, South America, Europe, and Asia (the April wording named Japan; the June 5 press release broadens it to Asia), and will support ten in-game languages.

How to wishlist (the recommended step today): open the official Aion 2 Steam store page, make sure you are signed into your Steam account, and click “Add to your Wishlist.” Steam will notify you when the game launches or enters any pre-purchase or beta phase. There is no fee, and Aion 2 is confirmed free-to-play. For non-Steam updates — and to lock in the confirmed launch rewards (the Pagati pet plus one selectable companion) — add your email to the newsletter at aion2.plaync.com, which is also where NCSOFT will reach you if it opens any future beta or founder’s-pack program.

Early access is now confirmed, dated, and purchasable. NC's official July 22, 2026 “New Product Info” notice put Founder's Packs on sale on Steam and PURPLE in three tiers — Standard $24.99, Deluxe $49.99, Ultimate $99.99 — and confirmed the 5-day Early Access begins September 30, 2026 (one pack per account, playable only on the purchase platform); see our full Founder's Pack prices and contents breakdown. The July 17, 2026 notice (“Early Access: How It Will Work”) had already detailed the mechanics: Early Access starts on a dedicated wave of Early Access Servers open only to Founder's Pack buyers, with a second wave of Launch Servers opening at official launch, region-wide dungeon party matching, Abyss PvP matched between Early Access servers only during EA, and a local Server Market from day one (the region-wide Cross-Server Market opens only after release). On a beta: as of August 26, 2026 there is one, in all but name. NC scheduled a free Launch Scale Test for September 17-18, framed as a server and infrastructure stability check rather than a beta, with pre-download from September 16 and sign-ups on the official Steam page — no invite code, no key, and no Founder's Pack required. It is open to anyone who signs up, which is why most outlets describe it as an open beta. NC has not published the test's level cap, content scope or wipe policy, and specific figures circulating on aggregator sites are not traceable to an NC source. Treat any other “beta sign-up” page outside the official Steam listing as unverified; the safest places to watch are the Aion 2 Steam page, aion2.plaync.com, the official notice board, the NC newsroom, and the official Aion 2 social accounts.

The launch day is also settled now: NC announced October 5, 2026 at gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, which fixes the far end of the Early Access window at October 4.

• Whether there will be a formal global pre-registration campaign (separate from the Steam wishlist and newsletter) and, if so, when it opens.
• Whether any further global pre-registration rewards will be added beyond the confirmed newsletter companions (the KR/TW Pet Box + Kinah rewards remain region-specific).
• The Launch Scale Test's level cap, content scope and progression-wipe policy — NC published the schedule but we could not verify the restriction details circulating elsewhere in an official source.
• Whether newsletter pre-registration rewards are claimable during the September 30 Early Access window or only from the October 5 launch.
• The launch-day unlock time on October 5, 2026, and whether a pre-download precedes Early Access or launch (one is confirmed only for the Launch Scale Test, from September 16).

Be careful not to confuse the global rollout with the already-live Korea/Taiwan service. Aion 2 launched in Korea and Taiwan on November 19, 2025. Those regions ran their own pre-registration from September 11, 2025, with rewards (a Pet Selection Box and a 100,000 Kinah Box, plus a G-STAR 2025 ticket drawing for players who registered by September 14), name reservations from October 16, and pre-character creation from November 16. Those rewards and dates were region-specific and do NOT carry over to the global version; NCSOFT has not announced any equivalent global rewards yet.

Only by accessing the Korean or Taiwanese service, which is region-locked. Players outside KR/TW generally need a VPN/region-masking setup plus a regional NCSOFT account, and Korea requires identity verification that is hard for foreigners to satisfy — which is why many overseas players favor the Taiwan service. This route is unofficial: it can violate the game’s terms of service and risks account action, and this site does not recommend bypassing official region restrictions. For most Western players, the sensible plan is to wishlist on Steam, join the free September 17-18 Launch Scale Test, and wait for the official October 5, 2026 global launch on dedicated NA/SA/EU/Asia servers.
