AION 2 Chapter 1: Fistmaster Class & July 1 Update

At its June 14, 2026 Summer Festa showcase, NCSOFT detailed AION 2's July 1 “Chapter 1: Land of Sand and Frost” update on the Korean service — a new Fistmaster class, the Eltnen and Morheim regions, a level 50 cap, new PvP/PvE modes, and a single consolidated membership. The global launch remains set for September 2026.

What NCSOFT announced

On June 14, 2026, NCSOFT held an offline showcase, “Aion 2 Summer Festa,” at the Mayfield Hotel in Seoul for 150 players selected by lottery, then published the details via NC on June 15. The headline is the next major content drop for the Korean service: “Chapter 1: Land of Sand and Frost,” scheduled for July 1, 2026.

NCSOFT also confirmed a structural change to how it ships updates: content will now arrive in larger “Chapter” units rather than the previous “Season” cadence, with each chapter delivered across a “First Story” and “Second Story.” As of June 16, 2026, every detail below describes the Korean (and Taiwan) service — the global/Western version remains set for September 2026, and NCSOFT has not yet stated which of these systems and prices will carry over at the Western launch.

Chapter 1: new class, new regions, higher caps

The marquee addition is a new melee class, Fistmaster (Korean: Kwonseong), that fights with fists and feet, builds rage to enter a “Berserk” state that swaps its skill set, and specializes in dashing, frontal attacks, and push/pull control. NCSOFT said it intends to balance the class against existing options rather than ship it intentionally overpowered, and that weekly class-balance patches are planned up to July 1.

Chapter 1 adds two new territories — the Elyos region “Eltnen” and the Asmodian region “Morheim” — along with new story quests, sealed dungeons, and outposts. Progression ceilings move up too: the character level cap rises from 45 to 50, the Stigma skill cap from 20 to 25, party size grows from four to five, and the attack-power cap is removed, with new Pendant, Seal, and Stats Arcana equipment slots.

New activities round out the update. On the PvE side, “Expedition: Trial” lets players stack difficulty debuffs on existing expeditions to chase weekly high-score rankings. On the PvP side, NCSOFT showed “Occupation Battle,” a 10-minute point-capture mode with normalized stats, and “Outland,” a 100-player battle royale. A horizontal-content track billed as “AION2 THE NEXT” teased sailing, fishing, and housing on the floating islands.

Memberships consolidated into one tier

NCSOFT is also overhauling Aion 2's paid memberships. The company will discontinue the existing “Shugo Premium,” “Sand Breeze,” and “Chengarung” memberships after scheduled maintenance on June 17, 2026, and replace the lineup with a single product — the “Kwairing Premium Membership” — priced at ₩25,000 (roughly US$17) per month, down from the ₩45,000 Shugo Premium tier. NC says the new membership carries the same benefits as the old Shugo Premium and that current subscribers will be transferred based on their remaining time, recalculated to the new price.

Existing Sand Breeze and Chengarung benefits remain valid through their paid period, but they will not stack with the new membership if both are active. A membership-exclusive battle pass for Kwairing subscribers is planned after the July 1 maintenance, with rewards to be detailed separately. NCSOFT additionally said special-grade costumes and pets will become shareable at the server level, and that an opt-in pet “auto loot” is being added.

Why it matters for the global launch

Korea is the lead service, so Chapter 1 is the clearest preview yet of the content and systems the West can expect after the September 2026 global launch — a new class, the move from Seasons to Chapters, a higher level cap, and house/sailing/fishing systems. The membership simplification is also a notable monetization signal, though the ₩25,000 figure is the Korean price and NCSOFT has not confirmed Western pricing.

NCSOFT also announced a tie-in with K-pop group fromis_9, the “fromis_9 in Atreia” collaboration, running on the Korean service from June 17, 2026 with themed cosmetics and a choreography emote. Frequently asked questions

  • What is AION 2 Chapter 1: Land of Sand and Frost?

It is AION 2's next major content update on the Korean service, scheduled for July 1, 2026. NCSOFT detailed it at the Aion 2 Summer Festa showcase on June 14, 2026. It adds a new Fistmaster class, the Eltnen and Morheim regions, new dungeons, and new PvE/PvP modes, and shifts updates from “Seasons” to larger “Chapters.”

  • What is the new Fistmaster class?

Fistmaster (Korean: Kwonseong) is a melee class that fights with fists and feet. It builds rage to enter a “Berserk” state that changes its skill set, and focuses on dashing, frontal attacks, and pushing/pulling enemies. NCSOFT says it will be balanced against existing classes rather than released overpowered.

  • Does this affect the AION 2 global/Western launch?

Not directly yet. Chapter 1 launches July 1, 2026 on the Korean and Taiwan service. The global PC launch is still set for September 2026. Korea is the lead service, so these systems preview what the West can expect, but NCSOFT has not confirmed which features or prices carry over at the global launch.

  • How much does the new AION 2 membership cost?

On the Korean service, NCSOFT is consolidating its three memberships into a single “Kwairing Premium Membership” priced at ₩25,000 (about US$17) per month, replacing the previous ₩45,000 Shugo Premium tier. The change takes effect after the June 17, 2026 maintenance. Western pricing has not been announced.
