AION 2 Patch Notes — August 26, 2026
The largest class patch since Chapter 1, built as one connected argument. A minimum skill-cancel time is imposed on every skill so input speed stops deciding DPS; the Templar's Judgment moves onto shield attacks and Punishment becomes a 20m projectile, while the Chanter's Dark Crush moves onto ranged skills and Spinning Strike is rebuilt to reduce reliance on it; the Gladiator, Templar, Chanter and Cleric lose a large share of the party buffs they were providing, and the lost damage is handed back through a broad per-class DPS raise. Shields across three classes become HP-proportional, core-skill life steal is cut, Abyss set damage amplification doubles at the 8- and 12-piece steps, and AION 2's second Server Transfer window opens alongside the new 'Oasis Under the Moon' Daeva Pass. Translated from the official Korean update note.

Content & Systems
No new instance this week. The system-side changes are a Kinah-to-Soul-bound conversion across several dungeons, an Abyss server rematch, and a large step up in Abyss set-bonus damage amplification.
Expedition / Transcendence / Sanctuary
Kina obtained from some dungeons becomes Soul-bound Kina.
- Conquest Hard difficulty 'Fire Temple' and 'Ferocious Horn Den'.
- Conquest Normal and Hard difficulty 'Dying Dramata's Nest' and 'Cradle of Nihility'.
- Transcendence 'Submerged Life Temple'.
- Sanctuary 'Abyssal Forge: Ludra'.
Abyss
- Artifact occupation and the Abyss corridor are reset for the server rematch. The server-matching table is published on the CM Hideout rather than in the note.
- Abyss corridor usage-time information can now also be checked from the Artifact UI on the HUD.
- Some rewards are now paid out when matching in the Abyss Rift Zone fails because of insufficient players.
- Abyss boss and Dimensional Core stats are raised further. These numbers may be adjusted again later.
The Abyss damage-amplification set option on Abyss gear is raised at every tier — the 8-piece and 12-piece steps double:
| Set pieces | Current | Changed |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 10% | 15% |
| 5 | 12.5% | 20% |
| 8 | 15% | 30% |
| 12 | 20% | 40% |
Shop
- For the duration of the server transfer period, some items in [Shop – Wind Breeze Trading – Special] move to [Material Conversion – Special – Wind Breeze Trading]. The affected products are 'Odyle Energy (Soul-bound)', 'Unknown Fissure Challenge Ticket (Soul-bound)', 'Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon (Soul-bound)' and 'Instant Clear Ticket: Nightmare (Soul-bound)'.
Customizing
- An item to adjust the position of moles is added to the [Style] > [Moles / Freckles] tab.
- An item is added that lets the skin gloss of the character's head and body be set separately.
UI improvements
- The boss direction marker is additionally applied to Nightmare, Ascension Trial and quest-dungeon bosses.
- Probability displays that were uniformly shown to six decimal places are corrected to two decimal places, matching the actual data. This covers the [Pet > Genus Insight] option-grade rates, the left-hand group rates in the [Chest item] detail popup, and the appearance-extraction rates in the [Extraction > Obtainable rewards] popup.
- Shop: the sold-out, unpurchasable and membership-purchase-condition labels on the product list are redesigned so they do not cover the product image.
- Shop: the product information screen now closes on completing a purchase even when purchases remain available.
Class Changes
This is the largest class patch since Chapter 1, and it is built as one connected argument. A minimum skill-cancel time is imposed on every skill so that input speed stops deciding DPS; the Templar and Chanter have their core rotations rebuilt off crowd-control triggers; support classes lose a large share of the party buffs they were providing; and the damage that all of that removes is handed back through a broad per-class DPS raise.
Common
- A minimum skill-cancel time is applied. To reduce the variance in skill chaining, cancel timing and DPS that comes from a player's game environment, a minimum cancel time is applied to all skills.
Core-skill rework
Given how similar the skill mechanics of the melee classes are, this rework is applied to the Templar and the Chanter first; whether to extend it to other classes will be judged from how it plays out. For the Templar, Judgment's trigger condition moves to 'when using a shield attack skill', and Punishment becomes a ranged skill so that a missed charge costs less. For the Chanter, Dark Crush's trigger moves to 'when using a ranged skill', and Spinning Strike's usability, presentation and impact are improved to reduce the class's dependence on Dark Crush.

Shield-skill rebalancing
As an extension of the August 12 healing rebalance, shield values and durations are re-tuned to make them effective again. The common thread is that flat shield values become HP-proportional, so shields scale with gear instead of falling behind it.

PvP-related improvements
An internal cooldown is introduced on divine-stone proc checks, so that the number of attack hits matters less; and buff-dispel effects are re-tuned as they start removing potion buffs as well.
- Divine stones: an internal cooldown is applied when checking whether a status-effect divine stone procs.
- Divine stones: the status-effect proc cooldown changes from 15s to 5s.
- Potion duration effects are changed so they are not removed by buff dispels.

Server Transfer
AION 2's second Server Transfer window, after the first one in the July 22 note. Sold from [In-game Shop] → [Server Transfer], from August 26, 2026 (after regular maintenance) to September 1, 2026 (Tue). Applications can only be made between 20:00 and 24:00 on each day of that window, and each server's inbound and outbound quotas update at 20:00 daily.
| Cost component | Price | Purchase limit |
|---|---|---|
| Base cost | 1,000 Quna | Once per account |
| Per-character cost | 200 Quna per character transferred | — |
| Slot expansion cost | 1,000 Quna per expanded slot | — |
Worked example from the note: transferring 2 characters costs 1,400 Quna, but if every empty slot on the destination server is locked, two slot expansions are added and the total becomes 3,400 Quna.
- Transfers are only possible to a server within the same race.
- Limited to once per account, and only from one server to one server.
- There is no limit on how many characters can move in a single transfer; the cost is calculated from the number selected.
- Each transferring character must be level 45 or above and standing in a town — applications cannot be made from the Abyss, the Rift of Time and Space, or a dungeon.
- The character must not be in a Legion, nor have a pending Legion application, and must have no duty quest [Mission] in progress.
- You cannot use the product if you hold unclaimed account or character goods: items listed or awaiting settlement on the brokerage, unclaimed items in the shop storage, or unread mail in a transferring character's mailbox.
The note carries a full item-by-item transfer table of roughly fifty rows. In summary: characters, Quna and mileage, Abyss points, memberships and membership passes, character-level Daeva Passes and Growth Supports, Daevanion, cube inventory and character storage, titles, achievements, closet appearances and collection points, wings, divine stones, Pantheon, Arcana, Monolith, Empyrean Lord's Trace, content reward counts and tickets, season missions and season ranking points, quests, exploration, attendance, skills and Stigmas, crafting, gathering and material-conversion records, friend and block lists, brokerage history, customizing, registered styles and item-recovery history all move with the character and merge with what is on the destination server. Server-level Daeva Passes and Growth Supports cannot transfer if the same one is already active there. Server storage transfers its expansion record only — items left in server storage do NOT move, and neither does Kina held in server storage, so move anything you want to keep into a transferring character's inventory or character storage first. Mail block lists do not transfer. See the official note for the row-by-row table.
Other consequences worth knowing: every transferred character is renamed to '@TempName' even if the name is free on the destination server, and you set a new name on first login there. Duplicate special pets bought from the shop stay on the destination server and you are given a Pet Exchange Ticket instead — or a Daeva Pass Shop Coin: Returning if the pet came from the pass shop — and duplicate un-decoratable cosmetic pieces are later given as a Skin (Single) Exchange Ticket. For Genus Insight you choose between the two servers' progress, and the current server's is reset either way. Character slot expansions already used stay behind on the old server.
Cautions: once an application completes, the transfer cannot be cancelled or reversed; the account is moved to the title screen and cannot log in while the transfer runs; completion is announced by a Purple PUSH notification; a transfer takes at least a minute and may take longer depending on the number of applicants; transfers may be temporarily restricted to keep processing stable; and the product may be sold again in the same or a similar form later.

Other improvements & fixes
Improvements
- Genus Insight: a Soul Crystal usage setting is added to the auto-analysis UI. With the option checked, Soul Crystals usable on all genera are used automatically; with it unchecked, only Soul Crystals restricted to a specific genus are used. The auto-analysis help tooltip's stop condition for the target option appearing is clarified, and guidance on the Soul Crystal setting is added.
- Mouse cursor lock option: in AION1 mode, an option is added to stop the mouse cursor moving outside the game client area. It is set from [Settings > Combat > Controls > Control Mode > AION1 > Mouse cursor lock option].
- PC HUD editing: the main target's buff icons are separated out so their position and size can be adjusted. They are edited through the 'Edit Buffs' button on the main target UI, and after saving, the edited buff UI is shown in place of the existing one.
- Closet: the synthesis result list and the 'Open All' button are displayed faster.
- Shop: 'Server Storage Expansion Voucher' and 'Atreian Pledge of Allegiance' can only be bought up to the maximum expandable quantity.
- Shop: selecting a quantity in the bulk-purchase popup now opens a quantity input popup so the purchase amount can be typed in.
- Gamepad key settings: pad-specific key bindings can be configured when a gamepad is connected. Operating a pad automatically switches the 'Settings > Key Settings' page items to the pad-only set. LB and RB change menu tabs, and the DPad up and down buttons move between key-setting entries.
- Growth Support: on opening the popup, a Growth Support with claimable rewards is selected first.
- Settings: an option to display your own summon's nameplate is added — ON shows it, OFF hides it.
- Settings: the network status option moves under [Info Display > General].
- Expedition / Transcendence: the weekly cumulative-play reward adjustment information is improved. The expected Kina amount for defeating every boss is shown, and the detailed information shows the Kina reward reduction per cumulative play count.
- Neural Frame Fusion support is added — an AI-based pixel and frame generation technology that allows smooth play while maintaining performance and quality. It is set from [Settings > Graphics > Optimization > Graphics Quality – Advanced > Upscaler]. Supported devices: Galaxy Tab S11, Galaxy Tab S12, Galaxy S25, Galaxy S26, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z TriFold.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum skill-cancel time in the AION 2 August 26, 2026 update?
A minimum cancel time is applied to every skill in the game. The stated purpose is to reduce the variance in skill chaining, cancel timing and DPS that comes from differences in a player's game environment, so that connection quality and input speed matter less to output. Because it costs damage for everyone, the same patch pays it back with a broad per-class DPS raise.
How does the AION 2 Templar rework work after the August 26 patch?
Judgment stops keying off crowd control. Its usage condition changes from a stunned or knocked-down target to using a shield attack skill, and the 7% chance to activate against targets immune to action-blocking is removed, with PvE and PvP damage cut by 10% to pay for the reliability. Punishment changes from a self-centred area attack into a projectile-type area skill fired at targets within 20m, with 20% more PvE damage, so a missed charge costs less. Pummel and Punishing Strike gain 30% PvE damage, Warding Strike loses 30% of its wind-up and gains movement, and Doom Shield's Judgment activation drops from 7s to 3s and now keys off yourself rather than the target.
Why were Gladiator, Templar, Chanter and Cleric party buffs nerfed in AION 2?
The note states that their party synergy was excessive, and that the change is meant to push the support classes toward strengthening roles other than damage. The Gladiator's Experienced Counterstrike drops from 17/24/31% to 9/13/17% PvE damage amplification, the Templar's Fury from 18/26/34% to 10/15/20%, and the Chanter's Earth's Promise damage-resistance reduction from 15/20/25% to 9/13/17%. The Cleric's Earth Punishment is restructured so its buffs give 10% to yourself and 5% to party members instead of 7% to everyone.
How does AION 2 Server Transfer work in August 2026?
This is the second transfer window, running from August 26 to September 1, 2026, with applications only accepted between 20:00 and 24:00 each day. It costs 1,000 Quna as a base fee, once per account, plus 200 Quna per character and 1,000 Quna per slot expansion needed on the destination server. Transfers are same-race only, one server to one server, and each character must be level 45 or above, standing in a town, not in a Legion, and free of in-progress duty quests and unclaimed goods. Items and Kina left in server storage do not move, so anything you want to keep must go into a character's inventory or character storage first.
What changed for Abyss gear in the AION 2 August 26 update?
The Abyss damage-amplification set option is raised at every tier, and the top steps double: the 2-piece bonus goes from 10% to 15%, the 5-piece from 12.5% to 20%, the 8-piece from 15% to 30%, and the 12-piece from 20% to 40%. Abyss boss and Dimensional Core stats are also raised further, and the note says those numbers may be adjusted again.
