AION 2 Removes Sanctuary Raid: Ludra From the Launch Build, With a New Version Coming

NC's October 5, 2026 notice says Sanctuary Raid: Ludra is temporarily removed from the global launch build because Early Access players beat it at a lower progression level than intended. A reworked version with new mechanics is coming, Early Access gear will be returned and upgrade materials reimbursed, Europe clears get a title, and a First Clear event is planned. The return date is promised by October 16.

Last updated: October 6, 2026

What NC announced

In an "Update on Sanctuary Raid" notice on the official EN-US board (displayed October 5, 2026, 15:40), NC said Sanctuary Raid: Ludra will be temporarily removed with the full launch build while it prepares an updated version of the encounter. NC's stated reason: during Early Access, Ludra was defeated at a lower level of overall progression than NC intended, and NC does not want to simply release the same fight again for Global players.

When Ludra returns, NC says its core identity will stay familiar but it will have "new and adjusted mechanics and attack patterns unique to this version of the fight".

Early Access clears, gear and the First Clear event

Every Daeva who cleared Ludra in the Europe region during Early Access will receive a unique commemorative title. NC names Europe only; it does not say whether clears on other regions' servers qualify.

Ludra-specific gear obtained during Early Access is also temporarily removed. When the raid returns, NC says those items will be granted back to the players who earned them, and materials spent upgrading them will be reimbursed.

NC will also hold a new First Clear event for the return, with a unique first clear reward and recognition in the in-game Hall of Fame, which is being reset for release.

What is still unpublished

As of October 6, 2026, NC has not given a return date: it promises to share one "by October 16", along with more detail on the raid's return and the First Clear event. The title's name, the First Clear reward, the Hall of Fame rules and the new mechanics are all unpublished. For the surrounding schedule, see our release date guide and the launch servers list.
